Hajin youth booked under Public Safety Act, shifted to Kupwara jail | KNO

Sources said that Shahzad Ahmad Sofi, son of Jalal-ud-din Sofi, resident of Shahgund village of Hajin was booked under PSA on charges of stone pelting.

A youth charged of throwing stones on the government forces during last year’s uprising was booked under the Public Safety Act in Hajin area of North Kashmir's Bandipora district on Wednesday.

Sources said that Shahzad Ahmad Sofi, son of Jalal-ud-din Sofi, resident of Shahgund village of Hajin was booked under PSA on charges of stone pelting.

 

He has been shifted to a jail in Kupwara district, said a source.

With his detention, the total number of people booked under the PSA in the district has mounted to 52 since July 8 killing of militant commander Burhan Wani
